A spokeswoman for the Arizona lottery said that the Glendale man won the lottery after he picked up six Powerball tickets all with the same numbers back in April.
According to Fox
, the lotto tickets were good for second-place prizes. Half a dozen to be exact. The man, unidentified, went to collect his $6 million prizes at the Arizona Lottery's headquarters in Phoenix. He had to make several trips to pick up the money.
According to the DailyMail
, the executive director of the Arizona Lottery, Jeff Hatch Miller, confirmed that the man did win the $6 million. Miller said that it is very rare that such an occurrence happens but it does happen.
According to GlobalPost
, the owner of the place where the man bought the tickets also received money. The man ended up getting $30,000 in prize money.
Arizona has seen quite a few winners of the Powerball $1 million second prize this year. Also, back in April more than 50 people in Arizona ended up winning at least $10,000, including a man who ended up winning over $6 million.
