Los Angeles - A Los Angeles spokesperson has confirmed that legendary hairstylist Vidal Sassoon, 84, has been found dead at his Mulholland Drive home in Beverly Hills. Authorities say Sassoon has died from an unspecified illness.
Los Angeles authorities and his Beverly Hills salon have verified that Vidal Sassoon, a British-born hairstylist and entrepreneur, has been found dead at the age of 84. He apparently passed away from natural causes, according to the Los Angeles Times.
His family was at his side upon his death. No other details have been made public at this time.
Last year, Sassoon made it public that he was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2009. He was treated for the cancer at the Cromwell Hospital in London and at his Beverly Hills residence.
A documentary was released about the iconic fashion figure called “Vidal Sassoon: The Movie.” He also conducted a speaking tour in movie theatres across Los Angeles and New York for many of his fans.
It is unknown how much he was worth, but his hair products are now worth more than $150 million.
