Retort to user from Canadian PM spokesperson sets Twitter abuzz

Ottawa - All over the Internet, there is a plague known as trolling, which is meant to incite strife on a discussion board. One Twitter user attempted to do that with the Canadian Prime Minister's spokesman, but it backfired.

Not everyone supports Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. A lot of those individuals have brought their frustrations to the Conservative leader to Twitter, Facebook and other social media networks – even to his cabinet officials and colleagues in the House of Commons. Twitter is now set abuzz after one of Harper’s aides laid down the law on a critic of the Harper regime Tuesday. @oxy28, who describes his or herself as a “proud canadian who's deeply embarrassed with our current dictator stephen harper,” asked Andrew MacDougall, the prime minister’s director of communications, and known as @PMO_MacDougall, a trolling-esque question. “How does it feel to work for the biggest a**hole in Canada?” asked @oxy28. “I wouldn’t know. I don’t work for you,” retorted @PMO_MacDougall. The Harper spokesperson’s wisecrack created tremendous response all over the social network. Many found the exchange hilarious, while others criticized MacDougall for “feeding the troll” and becoming the story. “That was a classy answer coming from a communications director,Andrew. REAL CLASS. Your fitting in,” wrote one Twitter user. “Love this story. So many people think an anonymous Twitter handle is a license to be rude,” said another Twitter user. One Twitter man wrote Tuesday night, “Oh, puh-leez. Everyone. Get a life.” It may look as if @oxy28, also known as TJ, was attempting to garner attention. After looking through the person’s Twitter feed, TJ insults just about everyone, including Oprah Winfrey, Ryan Seacrest, Donald Trump and Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. Some of these Tweets include: “@pmharper speaking of hitler.most canadians think your style of governing resembles that of hitler you scum sucking sack of s**t.” “@RyanSeacrest you look like a f**king idiot in your twitter pic.” “@KyleBusch you're a pathetic f**king loser.hope you get slapped out again this season by another senior citizen@Samanth_Busch.married loser.”
