By Richard Milnes     May 9, 2012 in Crime
Liverpool - The ringleader of the Rochdale Muslim child grooming gang has been sentenced to 19 years. Others involved have received sentences ranging from between four and twelve years.
Flash demo
Nick Griffin MEP, Leader of the British National Party, who first raised the issue back in 2001, tweeted from the ‘flash demo’ outside Liverpool Crown Court:
“Liverpool Labour & UAF turning out in support of convicted paedophiles today. Shame on them!”
“What we need now is a public enquiry into why police turn blind eyes to paedostani gangs.”
“Masses of media in Liverpool. Our demo for public enquiry into police, CPS, BBC & social services in full swing.”
“Police refusing to let BNPtv film. Another small slip down slope to naked police state.”
“They’ve now agreed to let him film in the BNP pen.”
“Clive Jefferson just arrested for crime of giving out leaflets to supportive members of the public.” Clive Jefferson is the Party’s Elections Officer and Treasurer.
“Police breaking Human Rights law. Will cost them dear.”
“Reported that 59 year old ring leader just got 19 years.”
“9 years for several others. Not enough, should have got extra for racial motivation.”
“5 years for another. So out in just 2 years. Not enough for ruining girls’ lives.”
“The just penalty for serial rapists? The rope!”
Some photos taken on location can be seen on the Simon Darby blog.
Ongoing investigation
The Daily Mail reports that detectives plan to make more arrests in the next few days and will use information obtained during the court case in order to track down what is suspected to be more than 40 members of the gang who still remain at large. However, it is believed that some suspects may have already fled the country.
As reported by Digital Journal, the British Police have received significant criticism for their handling of the problem of Muslim child grooming gangs, which have been operating for years before anything was done about the issue.
An earlier demonstration against the child grooming gangs took place on 6 February 2012.
