article imageThe Voice UK dream a little closer for Aleks Josh

By Mathew Wace Peck     May 9, 2012 in Entertainment
Aleks Josh has made it through to the next stage of the BBC’s popular talent show with his rendition of the swing song “Dream a little Dream”.
This was Aleks’s first live solo on The Voice UK, and it received praise from the judges and enough votes from the public to secure his place in the next round.
After his performance, two of the judges – Danny O’Donoghue and will.i.am – gave Aleks a standing ovation, with will.i.am comparing the 17-year-old to Michael Buble.
Danny, Aleks’s mentor on the show, has praised him right from the audition stage at the beginning of the series. After his latest performance, he said of the young man, “I think there will be a lot of girls dreaming a little dream tonight. I think it’s very brave of [you] to come out and sing a swing song. I’m so proud that […] you were you.”
Unreality TV spoke for many of Aleks Josh’s growing legion of fans, summing up that “we appreciated the fact that there were no backing dancers, and no fuss, but just a double bass player on stage [meaning] all the focus was on Josh and he deserved it”.
Meanwhile, The Voice UK presenter Holly Willoughby said of Aleks, “I don’t know about dream a little dream, you are a little dream.”
