A lost pet parakeet surprised Japanese police when it gave them some infomration that helped police get the bird back to its owner.
According to the HuffingtonPost
the parakeet, named Piko, told cops where it lived. The bird gave its home address to the cops.
The bird went missing on Sunday morning. It escaped from its home in Sagamihara, which is a city west of Tokyo.
According to the Long Island Press
, The parakeet eventually made its way to a hotel. That is where the bird landed on the shoulders of a guest. That's when the guest took the parakeet and handed it over to the local police. However, the bird did not speak until Tuesday. When the bird decided to speak, it told police the location of its home. The bird told officers the names of the city as well as the district.
According to the New York Post
, the bird's owner taught her bird to say its address. The reason for this is because the woman lost a different parakeet before and did not want to make the same mistake again.
The owner bought the parakeet two years ago and started to teach it how to say its address as soon as she bought it.
