A London, Ontario man was chased by local police for approximately an hour after he stole a John Deere tractor worth $94,000 last Thursday.
The chase started at 4 a.m local time. The pursuit wasn't a typical speedy one: The John Deere tractor can only roll at
40 km/h. Despite the low speed-chase, there were 9 police cars behind the vehicle.
In order for the John Deere tractor to roll even slower, police installed a spike belt on the road. However, this plan was a failure.
Another method used to capture the
37 year old thief (who was not identified),was to surround the tractor with their cars. Despite that tactic, the crook ran over one of the police cars before the stolen vehicle was stopped.
The man was tasered after the pursuit ended.
Investigation is under away.
