Didier Drogba also scored in the 51st minute to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead. Liverpool was attempting a major comeback: substitute Andy Carroll scored a goal in the 64th minute to cut the deficit to one.
This game was without controversy. In the 81st minute, Andy Carroll, header was saved by Petr Cech, before it was deflected to the crossbar. The ball seemed to cross the line. However, the referee disallowed the goal and the score remained 2-1.
Didier Drogba becomes the 1st player to score in 4 different FA cup finals.
This was the 7th FA cup victory for the Blue Devils.
Chelsea will look to repeat their FA cup success in the Champion's League final against Bayern Munich on May 19th.
