Almost every sport is a contact sport. As a result, players get injured. There are some causes of injuries that seem reasonable to fans; there are others that seem completely foolish to the avid supporter. The Knicks forward's injury describes the latter.
The sports world has seen some bizarre injuries over the last few years. For instance, Carlos Boozer missed a good portion of the 2010-2011 season with a broken hand after he tripped over a bag at his home. In 2006, hockey player Ethan Moreau of the Edmonton Oilers sprained his ankle after playing a pick-up game of basketball.
Amar'e Stoudemire is also getting mocked by a few fans for his injury. The Knicks star injured his hand after punching a fire extinguisher after a game 2 loss against the Miami Heat in the first round. As a result, Stat missed game 3 and the Knicks got pummelled 87-70.
Stoudemire released a picture of his hand on his twitter account yesterday. Ouch! That seems painful!
As bad as Stoudemire's hand seems, he might play in game 4 as the Knicks will try to avoid getting swept on Sunday.
