Inspired by Hank, the American cat running for state senate on an independent platform, a kitten is now running for political office in Russia.
Bublik is just three-months old, but his intention to run for political office was announced earlier this week. According to Catster, Bublik's very own press secretary, Ivan Kolotovkin, announced the launch of the kitten's campaign on two of Russia's social networking sites. Kolotovkin also happens to the be the kitten's owner, Bizarre News reported.
Bublik's campaign slogan is "For a Fun Future!" Thus far his only stated policies are anti-neutering and lower cat food prices. Speaking on behalf of his pet Kolotovkin said “He’s the best because he’s the only politician who gives no promises. He mostly keeps silent, you see.”
In February this year Now Public reported that Hank the Cat was running for political office in the U.S. and the Russian bid for office was influenced by Hank's unusual move. Being feline is no bar to running for office and Hank's campaign already has some enthusiastic supporters.
