It's a highlight for the ten performers who get to go on it - and surely a regret for the singer in 11th - and a thrill for fans of American Idol. The show's annual tour was announced by Ryan Seacrest this week and it includes over 40 stops.
This is season 11 and the tour has been part of the show from the start. The 2012 tour starts in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena and, unless more shows are added, finishes Sept.11 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Last year's winner Scotty McCreery and the 2011 tour played two dates in the Philippines, dates added at the end of the tour; it was only the second time the tour left the U.S. (the first was to travel to Singapore in season 3).
