article imageVideo: Soldier's reunion with Great Dane Emmitt goes viral

The video of a U.S. Soldier reuniting with his dog after a 9-month deployment in Afghanistan has gone viral with almost 2 million views.
Terry Chowder returns home from Afghanistan into the loving arms of his Great Dane Emmitt, nicknamed Thunderpaws, a 4-year-old purebred Great Dane. Yahoo! News tells us the giant dog is normally not allowed to jump for obvious reasons, but his master makes an exception for a special occasion. The video shows Thunderpaws standing on his hind legs with his front paws on Chowder's shoulders, actually hugging his master.
Patch.com reports that Emmitt has a Twitter page with 551 followers on which he posts doggy tweets! In one of his tweets he says Chowder is his "favorite person."
Inquisitr reports the video was originally uploaded in April 2011on WelcomeHomeBlog.com. Founder of the blog Chase Holfelder, says he has received 500 videos of military reunions. He said: “These videos are undoubtedly heartwarming no matter your political beliefs.”
