With a tug of her earlobe, she left the stage. Now, Carol Burnett is back to reflect on her successful career when she steps on stage at the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, Illinois on May 8-9. Show time is 8 p.m.
All one has to do is watch the commercial where Burnett reunites with Harvey Korman and Tim Conway, to remember the classic TV show, "The Carol Burnett Show." To many, it was the last real great variety show. On that show, she would banter with the audience and even answer questions. It was classic Carol.
With "Laughter and Reflection," the audience will experience that classic Carol.
"This is a rare opportunity to talk to Ms. Burnett in the same enjoyable and intimate audience-interactive format. Come with your questions and share in the fun with one of the country's most loved and respected performers," states the Rialto's website.
Again, this one-of-kind show is May 8-9 at the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, located at 102 N. Chicago St. Call the box office at (815) 726-6600.

It has been announced that a special DVD will be released Sept. 25. Burnett, a 25-time Emmy winner, personally picked the episodes. It also features new interviews and 10 hours of never-seen-before bonus features.
This is the first instance where the Time-Life release with be in retail stores. "It will be wonderful to see DVD’s of my show in stores," said Burnett.
Time-Life’s initial release of "The Carol "Burnett Show" will come in four different configurations, notes the release.
"THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW - CAROL’S FAVORITES": This is a 6-DVD set boasting 18 complete, unedited episodes featuring the most popular sketches and characters from the series.
Included:
- Starlet O’Hara in "Went with the Wind"
- "The Family"
- "Tudball & Wiggins"
- "The Oldest Man"
Also featured are additional movie parodies and guest appearances by Carl Reiner, Steve Martin, Betty White, George Carlin, Shirley MacLaine, The Jackson 5, and many more.
"THE BEST OF THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW": This is 2-DVD set with 6 all-time classic episodes chosen by Carol Burnett.
THE BEST OF THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW": This time it is a single-DVD with "Went with the Wind," classic sketches of "The Family," "Tudball & Wiggins" and others.
The ultimate
"THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW ULTIMATE COLLECTION": This is a 20-DVD boxed set. It contains 50 episodes and more than ten hours of new, never-before-seen bonus features. It comes in a collector’s box.
To help promote this package, Burnett, Conway and Vickie Lawrence will be making TV appearance and commercials. Korman, who was featured last time around, has since passed away.
* "The Carol Burnett Show" debuted on CBS in 1967 and ran for 11 years, receiving 25 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes, making it one of the most honored shows in television history.
