Pacquiao, who is training in the high altitude city of Baguio in the Philippines, said he is praying for Sanchez and he believes Sanchez can win the whole competition.
There are six more contestants who are aspiring to become this year's top winner and Sanchez is one of the six vying for the coveted post.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Pacquiao said
he is praying that Sanchez wins the competition.
“Jessica, good luck and we’re praying for you. Sana manalo ka. No, hindi sana. I declare that you’re gonna win in Jesus' name,” he said.
Pacquiao will be training in Baguio City for three weeks before moving to the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood for the final phase of training for his scheduled June 9 fight with unbeaten boxing star Timothy Bradley of Palm Springs, California.
While training with his long time trainer Freddie Roach during day time, Pacquiao finds time to do Bible study at night with his team inside the Gym in Baguio City.
His Bible study sessions have attracted Baguio residents and visitors. ABS-CBN News reported
that there were about 700 people who participated Tuesay evening in his Bible study sessions.
Pacquiao's wife Jinkee, who motored to Baguio early in the week participated in the Bible study as leader of the choir.
The eight-division world boxing champion has just been designated as Bible ambassador by the Catholic hierarchy in the Philippines.
Bishop Pablo Virgilio David of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Bible ministry said Pacquiao’s influence on the people being a well-known personality will serve well in spreading the scriptures among Catholics.
“Manny has always been very religious and we are happy that he is deepening his faith and his understanding of the Bible,” said David.
