Would you like Justin Bieber to write a song all about you? It appears one way to make it happen is hire a lawyer, accuse him of fathering your kid and presto! you're immortalized in a pop song. That's the route baby-accuser Mariah Yeater took.
Bieber was in London on Monday and talked to media about his new album, 'Believe', due out June 19. During his talk, at a nightclub, he told U.K. scribes that a song on 'Believe' does not just make reference to Yeater, who accused him last year of having fathered her baby boy Tristyn, but is solely about her and the experience, from his point of view.
"I've written a song about the whole situation with the girl who said she's having my baby - Mariah Yeater." he said. "It's about everything I've gone through." Bieber, who released a track from the album called 'Boyfriend' in late March that continues selling well on iTunes, did not offer up sample lyrics.
Bieber tweets about Mariah Yeater
Yeater, a single Mom from California, accused Bieber through her lawyer and the media last year, saying he'd fathered her child after a concert in L.A. back when the now-18-year-old was just 16. The story had legs for a couple of months but when Bieber took a paternity test, and passed, Ms. Yeater quietly faded into the disreputable night. She hadn't been heard from since, nor heard of, until days ago when Bieber put out a tweet directed at her.
"Dear mariah yeeter (sic)...we have never met...so from the heart i just wanted to say...". Those words were followed by a video post of Sacha Baron Cohen's character, Borat, repeating the phrase 'you will never get this'.
At the talk with U.K. press, Bieber went on to say that he was proud of all the songs on 'Believe'. "I definitely had something to prove but I did it justice. You'll be blown away," he said. "Every song has a piece of me. I love all of them." If the song about Yeater becomes a hit there is one person who may be a little more happy about that than even Bieber himself might be - Mariah Yeater.
Anyone else want Justin Bieber to write a song about them?
