It will be graduation time soon for the class of 2012. For the fictional kind, too. With that comes time for McKinley High's class of 2012 to walk up to the stage and grab their diplomas.
It is also a good time to grab something else from this gifted class. Their music.
That's right, the class is none other than the cast of "Glee." Well, at least some members will be leaving, er graduating. Gone are the days when students are in high school when they are in their 20s and stay long enough to finally leave when all hope for a spin-off have died.
Look for the graduation release of release of "Glee: The Music, The Graduation Album" on May 15.
The commemorative release is ready to celebrate that year when emotions run high and low, from new beginnings to an uncertain end. From Queen's "We Are The Champions," Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" and Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up," the release should both inspire and leave fans wanting more.
On Fox, "Glee" is now in the stretch run to graduation and May Sweeps, no less. Now, New Directions is ready to take on nationals and other events leading up to the big day. Like prom, for example.
Like them or the show or not, it has touched a nerve. "Glee" has sold more than 43 million songs and over 12 million albums worldwide. They scored three consecutive No. 1 releases with "Glee: The Music, The Power of Madonna," "Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers" and "Glee: The Music, Journey To Regionals."
The RIAA has certified "Glee: The Music, Volume 1" and "Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album" Platinum (sales in excess of 1 million units) as well as "Glee: The Music, Volume 2," "Glee: The Music, Volume 3" and "Glee: The Music, Volume 4 Gold" (sales in excess of 500,000 units).
Here it is: "Glee: The Music, The Graduation Album":

"Edge Of Glory"
"I Won't Give Up"
"We Are The Champions"
"I Was Here"
"You Get What You Give"
