On Tuesday, 17 April 2012, Iran’s Army Day parades began in Tehran. Iran’s Army appears highly capable of defending the country and the Iranian President celebrates National Army Day parades, while warning potential adversaries.
In addition, foreign military attachés participated in Iran’s National Army Day celebrations, while Iran’s Defense Ministry and military commanders warns about giving a devastating and crushing response to any Aggressor.
According to Fars News Agency, early in the morning, different Islamic Republic Army units began military parades in Tehran and other towns in Iran to celebrate the National Army Day. The observance was located in the Islamic Republic mausoleum, founded by the late Imam Khomeini. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, senior Iranian officials, and other high-ranking military commanders were among the ceremony participants. This special occurrence celebrates the Islamic Republic Army establishment.
The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated Iran's Army will deliver a severe and deadly retaliation to any aggression directed against Iran’s dignity and interests. President Ahmadinejad highlighted Iran's progression towards the achievement and conquest of technological and scientific summits. Furthermore, the president said that attaining accomplishments requires maintainable defense that can only be guaranteed by courageous and well skilled military forces. Emphasizing that while Iran has always been amid the globe’s most peace loving nations, he highlighted that adversaries will receive a vigorous retaliation for all aggressions, which will put them to great shame.
According to IRNA, the Iranian Army units conducted gigantic parades to exhibit their military defensive readiness and proficiencies. Iran’s ground, air, and naval forces exhibited their military prowess to intimidate foreign observers, encouraging the country that they are prepared to defend Iran's regional integrity. Additionally, during the parades, the Iranian armed forces exhibited different weapons and military arms and equipment, including diverse combat helicopters, drones, ground-to-ground missiles, air-to-ground missiles, surface-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air missiles. They displayed different kinds of armored vehicles, surface and underwater warships, electronic communication devices, possible advanced energy weapons, artillery, mortar-launchers, air defense systems, engineering tools, and logistic combat support equipment.
IRNA reported about the foreign military attachés residing in Iran and participating in the grand ceremony. The attachés were from various world countries including Brazil, Turkey, China, Indonesia, and Azerbaijan. The martyrs’ families and war veterans as well as the Tehrani people attended this annual military event.
Finally, according to IRNA, Iran’s military leaders stated that its enemies will face a strong response if they want to threaten the nation with war. Pourdastan declared Iran’s army forces will vehemently challenge all threats and defend the Islamic Republic by employing tremendous power. Pourdastan plans to modernize Iran’s military with foreign support, according to Iran’s military forum.
