South African president Jacob Zuma is due to marry for the sixth time this coming weekend. Zuma who recently turned 70 will reportedly take his long-time fiancee, Bongi Ngema, as his fourth current wife.
Zuma is currently married to Sizakele Zuma, Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma and Tobeka Madiba-Zuma.
The Telegraph reports that he was married to home affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamii-Zuma who divorced him in 1998, while Kate Zuma, another wife, committed suicide in 2001 after 24 years of marriage she described as 'hell.'
"President Jacob Zuma will be formalizing his relationship with his fiancee by having a private traditional ceremony this coming weekend," said Zuma's spokesman, Mac Maharai, according to Times of India.
Polygamy is legal in South Africa and forms part of the Zulu culture which Zuma is said to practice as a traditionalist.
The Southern African president reportedly has 21 children including a three-year-old son from wife to be Gloria Ngema.
