The 17-year-old singer from Stevenage
saw his profile reach 10,000 followers within hours of his duet on last Saturday's edition, trending on Twitter during the evening.
Aleks comes over as shy on the show, but the response from fans elicited
an excited response from the part-time lifeguard: "10K Followers! Yeahhhh Boyyyyy," he tweeted.
His performance on Saturday, 22 April – a duet with fellow
Team Danny team member Emmy J Mac, of James Morrison’s “Broken Strings” – was the second time Aleks had appeared on tyhe show, having
got through during the second round of auditions at the end of March.
Aleks, who is now
through to the final 20, will be seen this evening in a group performance, ahead of next Saturday's show when he will be singing solo again.
Aleks's coach, Danny O'Donoghue, is very impressed with the lad who, at 17, is the youngest contestant in the show. Last week,
Danny said of him, "I think I still have a lot to show Aleks [...] who is going to go through to the live shows with me."
The Voice UK results show can be seen on BBC 1 tonight at 7.25 p.m., and the series continues with its live shows from next Saturday.
