According to a report on Thursday, 2 police constables in Durban, South Africa were arrested after being caught with prostitutes in their police panel van.
According to News24, at around 01:00 on Monday this week, metro officers from the dog unit walked up to the van in the Clairwood suburb of Durban. They saw a man sitting in the front seat, with a woman crouched on the floor.
Apparently the man immediately pulled out a firearm and attempted to drive over the metro police officer before speeding away. A chase ensued and when the van was stopped, the woman tried to run away.
The metro officer then fired a warning shot, ordering the driver to surrender, but he apparently refused. The metro officer then set a dog on him.
It was only then that the officers noticed that there was another man in the back of the van, with yet another prostitute.
They were arrested and taken to a police station. However the officers at the station refused to book them due to the common practice of free sex with prostitutes, which is known in police circles as "num num."
Two days later an official docket was opened on the matter and the 2 officers have been arrested.
