Brooklyn - Empire Mayonnaise, an artisanal mayonnaise company, opened a store Sunday in Prospect Heights, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, the Gothamist reports.
Empire Mayonnaise features a crazy array of flavors such as Black Garlic, White Truffle, Lime Pickle, Bacon, Saffron, Preserved Lemon, and Vadouvan (a French curry masala flavor).
Chef Sam Mason and his business partner and designer, Elizabeth Valleau are the brains behind the project, and first introduced Empire Mayonnaise Co. at Smorgasburg last summer, The Prospect Heights Patch reports.
On Easter, its opening day, Empire Mayonnaise Co. gave away deviled eggs made with 3 of its flavored mayos, The Brooklyn Ink reports. Glasses of champagne, coupons, and samples were also given away.

The Brooklyn Ink also reports that one resident of Prospect Heights actually thought the whole thing was a joke - a store selling only mayonnaise, that is.
At the store's grand opening, co-owner Elizabeth Valleu told The Brooklyn Ink, "There's just nothing else like our product."
The store is located at 564 Vanderbilt Ave.
Currently, the store sells 12 flavors of mayo, the Prospect Heights Patch reports. The 4 oz jars cost between $6 and $8.
The complete product line is available online as well.
