Military commanders say no country dares attack Iran and measures have been taken to counter the US missile shield in Persian Gulf.
According to IRNA, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) ground force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour affirmed Tehran's military power and advancement in several areas, and emphasized that no nation would dare strike the nation of Iran. Pakpour highlighted Iran's advanced military capabilities and strength in various combat areas before saying "the IRGC plans to stage numerous drills in the new-year,” which began on 20 March 2012, according to Iran’s Calendar.
Press TV showed an Iranian commander discussing the US strategy for installing missile systems in the Persian Gulf region. He says that Iran has already taken the necessary preemptive measures to counter any US missile system. “The Americans have for a long time harbored plans to provide a missile defense system for the Zionist regime of Israel,” said Commander of the Aerospace Division of Iran's Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh.
According to UPI, Iran says it has been developing its own missile defense system, the Bavar 373, which is similar to Russia’s formidable S-300PMU system. The S-300PMU is a surface-to-air missile system that is capable of engaging numerous targets simultaneously, countering intensive aircraft raids at low-to-high altitude, according to FAS.
