If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck right? Not so fast, this little fella walks like a duck, but plays fetch like a dog.
Whether he's a few feathers short of a whole duck or suffering from some psychological mallardy, this duck is well on his way to viral greatness, having received over 46,000 hits.
This is what actor Michael Caine must have meant, when he said, "Be like a duck. Calm on the surface, but always paddling like the dickens underneath." Because this guy paddles alright, as fast as his little legs will carry him. The enthusiasm he shows as he chases and retrieves a flip flop actually puts most dogs to shame.
But is this fella the first duck to act like a golden retriever?
Apparently not. We found a couple more worthy contenders. Take Quacker and Jack for instance. This duo of ducks admittedly don't show up with the slippers (flip flops?), but they welcome Daddy home just as eagerly as man's best friend. Their owner, from Bristol in the UK, said his ducks always greet him in this manner when he arrives home.
And what more could a man ask for, than a fine feathered friend to share a beer with? Barrie Hayman has just that in Star, a duck he adopted and took under his wing, after he was shunned by her own family. Star follows Hayman all over Devon, riding in the car and even waddling behind him to the local pub.
Quackers, but so cute.
