Austin - A police officer was shot and killed early Friday morning. The incident took place at a Walmart located in central Texas.
Senior police officer Jaime Padron was shot at a Walmart in central Texas. Police say that they do have a suspect in custody.
According to CBS, Austin police chief Art Acevedo said that Padron was shot right in his neck. Padron ended up dying at the scene.
Padron left behind two daughters, ages ten and six.

According to Fox, Padron went to the Walmart around 2:30am, after responding to a call about a drunk man who was inside the store. As soon as Padron arrived at the store, the suspect attacked him.
Acevedo said that the suspect shot Padron with a semi-automatic pistol, right at blank range. Padron was able to use his police radio to call for help.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Brandon Montgomery Daniel, 24, was arrested and charged with capital murder. No other information about the suspect was made available.
Daniel was tackled to the ground by two Walmart employees, after he shot Padron. Daniel was held until another officer showed up at the scene.
