article imageAshton Kutcher set to star as Steve Jobs in bio-pic

By KJ Mullins     Apr 2, 2012 in Entertainment
Ashton Kutcher is slated to star as the late Steve Jobs in the indie movie "Jobs" directed by Joshua Michael Stern. Will the Twitter king be able to pull off the man behind the iPhone?
Kutcher and a young Steve Jobs look surprisingly alike. For the man who took over the lead of Two and a Half Men from Charlie Sheen, this film could be the role that gets Kutcher back on track when it comes to serious acting.
Kutcher is known for his love of high tech and social media. He's attracted more than 10 million followers on Twitter.
The film will be in competition with the big leagues as Sony is planning on filming their own bio-pic about Steve Jobs. In October Sony obtained rights to the Walter Isaacson's authorized biography of Steve Jobs.
It's not the first film about Jobs. In 1999 Noah Wyle from the show ER played the tech giant in the TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley.
The indie film will chronicle Steve Jobs rise from youthful hippie to becoming the co-founder of Apple. Filming of Matt Whiteley's script will begin in April.
Steve Jobs died October 5, 2011 from cancer at the age of 56.
