Inspired by Digital Journal's photo essays of Spain and Washington in full spring bloom, it is time to showcase Greece in her spring glory.
Spring is the perfect time to visit Greece and appreciate her beauty. Free of the soaring summer temperatures, walkers can enjoy the spectacular scenery without risking heat stroke. Early tourists are spotted in shorts, contrasting with locals still wrapped in winter woolies, which some only shed in the heat of August.
Tortoises emerge, a much loved sight that Greek drivers, who routinely make road kill of snakes and cats, swerve to avoid. If you thought tortoises only operate on one speed you would be surprised how fast can they move when their mating rituals are disturbed and they hot pace away in embarrasment.
