Sanford - The New Black Panther Party has just announced a reward for the killer of Trayvon Martin and say they will hold him for police. It's unclear what they will do with him (George Zimmerman) if the police do not arrest, and charge him with Martin's killing.
The whole thing started 27 days ago when the victim, Trayvon Martin (black) was returning from a local store to his father's girlfriend's house in a gated community when he was followed by Zimmerman. The self appointed armed neighbourhood watch captain was clearly told not to follow Martin and what happened after that is still in dispute. Zimmerman had said Martin looked 'suspicious' and continued to pursue him.
The issue now comes down to whether Trayvon was the aggressor or was it Zimmerman, and until a thorough and complete investigation is complete, none of these facts will surface.
Stand your ground law in Florida is coming under fire because of this situation.
The City of Sanford FL issued a statement in part, "The City of Sanford does not condone the actions of the New Black Panther Party. The City is requesting calm heads and no vigilante justice .. Attempts by civilians to take any person into custody may result in criminal charges."

Chief of Staff of the New Black Panther Party spoke to CNN yesterday and said, "George Zimmerman should have followed the police instructions, to stay in his car. He shouldn't have taken Trayvon's life, no we're not inciting violence, we're doing what American Citizens have been doing for many many years, we're doing a citizens arrest."
The next step is a Grand Jury hearing in the middle of next month, and a determination will be decided whether George Zimmerman is to be held responsible enough to proceed to trial.
