George Clooney is teaming up with nightlife patron Rande Gerber in order to peddle a brand of tequila called Casamigos. Few details are known about this endeavor other than the beverage is expected to be marketed at an affordable price.
Less than a week after being arrested for his Embassy of Sudan protest, actor George Clooney is teaming up with restaurateur Rande Gerber - husband of Cindy Crawford - in order to launch a new brand of tequila dubbed Casamigos after homes in Mexico they both have ownership of.
According to the Huffington Post, Clooney is clearly jumping onto the bandwagon of celebrities promoting their own line of alcohol. However, most of the actor's contemporaries deal in the business of wine, as opposed to the 70-110 proof range tequila falls into.
Casamigos is anticipated to be sold at a "reasonable price point" reports 213Nightlife, and the two have been enjoying the adult beverage for a few years now.
“I don’t think we’re going to be following all the rules,” Gerber said. “We know we have a product we love and we drink, and other people will enjoy. The product speaks for itself.”
Gerber is also planning to release a brand on rum called Caliche, which is expected to grace stores with its presence within the next few weeks.
Other than the aforementioned information, not much else is publicly known about Gerber and Clooney's endeavor.
