Roberts was last seen on
Saturday, 10 March, near to his home town of Aberteifi (Cardigan) in Ceredigion, West Wales.
Earlier this week, Dyfed-Powys Police
made a plea for information concerning the possible whereabouts of the 36-year-old guitarist, who is a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, of medium build, with short greying brown hair and has four earrings in his left ear. Dyfed-Powys Police told BBC News Mid Wales
that when he was last seen, “He was wearing a black V-neck jumper and jeans [and] was carrying a black hooded top and rucksack.”
His front left tooth has a chip, has blue/grey eyes, and is clean shaven, though, police say, he may well have grown stubble by this time. A more detailed description has been posted on the Dyfed-Powys Police website, which reads
: “The top he was last seen wearing has a round neck, and the Topshop cardigan he was wearing over it is a thick knit with a zip-up front [and] quilted hood. The grey bag he was carrying has orange stitching, [is] of canvas-type material and is a shoulder bag, most likely to be worn across the front.”
Roberts was last seen walking along Gwbert Road towards Mwnt on Saturday, 10 March. As the weather was particularly good that day, there would have been people out walking the coastal path or dog-walking.
As well as being a member of The Reasoning, Roberts is also works at Theatr Mwldan
, in Cardigan, as a sound technician. One of his Theatre Mwldan colleagues spoke to Digital Journal
, saying, “We, along with Owain’s family and other friends are extremely concerned for his whereabouts and safety. Owain is a much loved member of our team.”
According to the town's main newspaper, the Tivy-Side Advertiser
, “It is believed that after leaving his home in Cardigan [Roberts] intended to walk the coastal path, but he hasn’t been seen since.”
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson told the Cambrian News
, “Anyone who may have seen Mr Roberts since Saturday morning or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Police immediately on 101.”
Owain Roberts has been a member of The Reasoning
since they made their debut, with the album Awakening
in 2006. The other band members are Jake Bradford-Sharp, Matthew Cohen, Rachel Cohen and Tony Turrell. They released their second album, Dark Angel, in 2008 and third, Adverse Camber – mixed by Joe Gibb (Leftfield, Massive Attack) – in 2010. Their first single was a cover of Duran Duran’s classic song “The Chauffeur”, which reached number two in the Amazon Download Chart.
