Offering up restaurant listings, menus, maps, deals and hassle-free online restaurant reservations, the new service Tawilati is making a splash as the Middle East's very first online restaurant booking destination.
Tawilati was launched at this year's
Taste of Dubai event, and allows users to scan through a list of 500+ restaurants in the UAE. The phrase Tawilati means "my table" in Arabic.
The service already has a presence on
Twitter, as well as a video on
YouTube that outlines all that Tawilati has to offer. The video showcases the benefits of the service, as demonstrated by animated restaurant-goers.
One of the partners in this new venture is Mohamed Al-Marzougy, an entrepreneur who thinks the concept is overdue in the region.
"Imagine having a butler in your pocket," says
Al-Marzougy. "All you have to do is say the word and he sets off to realize your wish… That is Tawilati! An Internet connection from a laptop or android phone, a few words to list what you are looking for and you are presented with a host of some of the best outlets in the UAE."
