Just minutes into American Flight 2332
on Friday passengers experienced frightful moments after an attendant first started ranting and then screaming
into the sound system ramblings about bankruptcy, 9/11 and the plane crashing. The attendant was subdued and forced into a seat by passengers and other attendants, two of whom were injured in the altercation. Pilot returned to the gate before takeoff and the attendant escorted out of the plane by airport police.
Although no official announcement was made by the airline on her condition early reports
indicated that the attendant was suffering from a condition known as bipolar, and she had failed to take her medication before the flight. The airline said passengers were in no danger throughout the incident. The flight resumed with new crew after an hour of delay.
Some passengers described the experience as "demonic", and "blood-curdling", reminiscent of a scene from the movie "The Exorcist
