So, you think comedy gets a bit short-changed come award season, do you? Not this year as "The Artist" was the big winner. However, the comedy folk think so and they do have their own awards, too.
Nominations for the second annual "The Comedy Awards" have been announced with "Modern Family," "Bridesmaids," "30 Rock," "Crazy, Stupid, Love." and Louis C.K. leading the way with the most nominations.
Fans can get involved as well. They have invited fans to vote for for Breakout Performer of the Year at www.thecomedyawards.com. They include Zooey Deschanel, Josh Gad, Donald Glover, Melissa McCarthy and Jason Sudeikis.

Perhaps Larry David of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" said it best for these awards. "Does this mean I have to go?" he quipped. He is nominated for TV Performance by an Actor.
The event is dedicated to honoring and celebrating the world of comedy will be taped at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, April 28 and will premiere on Comedy Central on Sunday, May 6. What does this mean? The winners will be known before the show airs, of course.
* Winners will be chosen by The Comedy Awards Voting Body, comprised of professionals from the comedy community including writers, producers, performers, directors and stand-ups
