article imageReview: A Song for International Women's Day

By Alexander Baron     Mar 9, 2012 in Entertainment
Yesterday was International Women's Day, although nobody who matters seems to have noticed, but one young lady thinks it is something to sing about.
Thanks (or otherwise) to Laura of Reggaeland 2012/Rototom Sunsplash for drawing this to our attention. Joan Armatrading wrote a song called If Women Ruled The World sometime ago. This reggae style track by Chantelle Ernandez is not it, but it passes at a first listening, According to the dedicated website, International Women's Day 2012 was celebrated by no less than 442 events in the UK, and 259 in the US, which shows the Americans have their priorities right. Certainly it was not reported in any depth if at all by any major newsmedia here.
What if women did rule the world? Thankfully the Democrats chose Barack Obama instead of Hillary Clinton, so if we are lucky, we may never find out.
