article imageLady Gaga 'cringing' over a planned tell-all movie about her life

By Marcus Hondro     Mar 9, 2012 in Entertainment
Given that the recent report about Lady Gaga's reaction to a film being planned on her life comes from a source you might take it with a grain of salt. But given the unflattering content of the book it will be based on, that she'd be unhappy rings true.
In a story entitled 'Lady Gaga: The Movie She Wants No One to See' a magazine called Life and Style published a story that said that the Fame Monster is not pleased about the prospect of the TV movie about her that is in the planning stages.
"Gaga doesn't want it getting out because it will portray her as insecure and needy," the source, described as a friend, allegedly told Life and Style. "She wants to be seen as powerful and strong." The friend also said that Lady Gaga was "furious" about the project.
Lady Gaga film: based on Callahan book
The movie is to be based upon a book written by Maureen Callahan called 'Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga'. Callahan has written for 'MTV' and 'Spin' magazine and a major source of Gaga inside information for her was David Ciemny, Gaga's tour manager for the first year of her rise to fame, and Ciemny's wife, a former personal assistant to the pop star. Callahan's book was released in Sept. of 2010.
Lifetime Network was initially reported as the producer of the film but reports say it is now being shopped elsewhere. The screenwriter attached to the project is Norman Snider, a Hollywood screenwriter who wrote the Kevin Spacey film 'Casino Jack' and, among many other scripts, a TV movie about high-class prostitute Heidi Fleiss.
Poker Face: unflattering account of Lady Gaga
The reason Lady Gaga is not happy about a film based upon Callahan's book is that the book is not a very flattering account of her. There are stories of Lady Gaga on crash diets and claims she had to be hospitalized multiple times in 2009 because of sweet food binges, binges followed by stringent diets. There are also allegations of her firing people for minor indiscretions and being highly unpredictable.
That might be why, according to the friend/source, Lady Gaga is "cringing at the thought of her life being exposed on television."
