article imageCharlie Sheen Stars in Hilarious New DIRECTV Commercial

By Todd Catlin     Mar 4, 2012 in Entertainment
Charlie Sheen is back! DIRECTV's newest commercial features Sheen in his first paid television acting performance since being fired from 'Two and a Half Men' and in just ten seconds Sheen shows why he was TV's highest paid actor.
This DIRECTV commercial featuring Charlie Sheen is the newest in a series of DIRECTV ads that play out storylines that could result from having cable instead of DIRECTV. This newest ad is in the same vein of previous commercials that detail a string of worst-case scenario events that could happen as a result of dissatisfaction with cable television service. The first two commercials show outlandish sequences and end with the slogans "don't wake up in a roadside ditch" and "don't have a grandson with a dog collar."
Detailing this new commercial and explaining how Charlie Sheen is worked into the storyline would spoil the fun and genius of the commercial, so I will not elaborate. I will however say that his cameo appearance is one of the more creative and humorous things I've seen on television in quite a long time.
Charlie Sheen was the highest paid actor on television when he was fired from the CBS sitcom 'Two and a Half Men' in March 2011 and although his reputation certainly took some hits over the past year, there is no doubt that Sheen still has that it factor that captivates audiences. FX Network recently announced that it agreed to terms with Sheen on a new show, 'Anger Management', which is scheduled to debut on June 28, 2012.
