article imageOscar prep is in full gear Special

By Tim O'Brien     Feb 22, 2012 in Entertainment
It is only Wednesday of Oscar Week but the work goes on to make Hollywood Boulevard into a sea of make-believe. And it will continue, day and night, all week and weekend long. It never ends, in fact.
That's right, up until Billy Crystal, this year's host, steps out, will the work be done. Or will it? Not really, it just moves inside. And outside, much of what viewers see starts to be dismantled. It's quite a task and even more impressive when seen first hand.
On a bright 60-degree day in Hollywood work continues on the red carpet as the portion in from of the theatre which houses the show.
Not only that, workers mix with reporters who mix with stars and wannabe stars all week. It is a hurry up and wait process. On Thursday, there will be a Food and Beverage Preview. This is where the press samples, interviews and gets the word out about the Governors Ball, held right after the show. It is, once again, be catered by Wolfgang Puck and staff.
On Friday, there will be a press conference with the show's director and producer to get some details and updates. Stay tuned for more later.
