An independent monitoring group has started a new on-line petition against government snooping and mass surveillance. Be sure to sign it.
In Canada recently, the lapdogs of Big Brother tried to frighten people into acquiescing to warrantless searches by raising the spectre of on-line paedophiles. After all, if you not with us against child pornographers you must be with them against us, right? In Britain, it is not perverts but terrorists who are being peddled as the bogeymen. If you haven't heard of the Communications Capabilities Development Programme, you can read about it here.
A petition against this Orwellian scheme can currently be found here; at the time of writing it has attracted nearly 10,000 signatures. Make sure you add yours. It isn't only paedophiles and terrorists we need protecting from.
There are similar e-petitions against surveillance and censorship on the dedicated British Government website. Make sure you sign them too!
