Justin Bieber did not attend the 54th Grammy Awards in L.A. Sunday night - he was having a quiet dinner with Selena Gomez in New York instead - but he did tweet his congrats to the winners. And in that tweet he vowed he'll be there in 2013.
"Congrats to all the winners tonight. glad to see friends of mine doing their thing. Next year we are coming with #BELIEVE," the singer tweeted. "And one more thing...I was born to be somebody...ain't nothing that's ever gonna stop me! #BELIEVE."
Bieber song loses to movie 'Tangled'
Bieber's tweeting he was 'born to be somebody' was a reference to his song of the same name, a song featured in his 3D biopic, 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never'. The song was nominated for a Grammy and he tweeted fans about it before the show began. "Watch @TheGRAMMYs tonight," he wrote. "BORN TO BE SOMEBODY is nominated for 'Best Song Written For a Movie' Let's do it." He lost to 'I See the Light' from the film 'Tangled.'
His loss marks the third time he has been nominated for a Grammy without winning, losing twice last year when he was up for 'Best New Artist' (Esperanza Spalding won) and 'Best Pop Vocal Album' for 'My World 2.0' (losing out to Lady Gaga's 'Fame Monster').
The day following the Grammys he was back in the studio, working on 'Believe'.
