Ferrari's latest Formula 1 racing car, the F2012, has been unveiled on the Internet. The company is hoping that the new design will lead to victory this year.
Ferrari have unveiled the latest F2012 challenger, their latest Formula 1 racing car, via the Internet. The Scuderia Ferrari 2012 single-seater made a video debut due to a planned launch being cancelled due to a snow storm.
The shiny red Ferrari boasts an improved aerodynamic performance with a new play on a stepped nose chassis. Crash Net reported Ferrari themselves admitted the design "is not aesthetically pleasing" but they have high hopes for its performance.
The car was unveiled by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa according to Sky Sports, which described the new design as aggressive and featuring a "boxer's nose."
The BBC quoted Ferrari's president Luca di Montezemolo saying "We want to go back to the top level, we want to win. We have all the ingredients for a perfect recipe." Ferrari's lead team driver, Spanish Fernando Alonso, hopes to win the first title for Ferrari since 2007. He said "We have to be optimistic. We have to fight for the title." Massa said he was really motivated to drive the new Ferrari to victory.
The car will be put through its paces next week in Jerez, Spain.
