article imageSuzuki puts 50 Cent worth in their Super Bowl commercial

It’s been said a penny saved is a penny earned, but Suzuki is hoping rapper 50 Cent will pay big dividends with its Super Bowl commercial this weekend.
Last week, the automaker previewed its TV ad to be aired during the National Football League’s championship game, on Feb. 5. With the game a few days away, Suzuki launched the final version of the commercial Super Bowl viewers will see on Sunday on its YouTube and Facebook pages.
The commercial, entitled “Sled,” has an Eskimo trading in his dog sled for an all-wheel-drive 2012 Suzuki Kizashi sport sedan. Just in time for the big game, Suzuki has enhanced the TV spot by adding music by rapper 50 Cent.
"We feel that 50 Cent's upbeat music brings the Kizashi to life in a way that viewers will relate to," says American Suzuki director of social media Jeff Holland, adding that the song “Movin’ On Up” fits the commercial’s theme in that it illustrates the feeling one can get from upgrading their mode of transportation. "We are thrilled to show off the Kizashi's fun-to-drive capabilities during the most-watched sporting event of the year."
"Sled" opens with an Eskimo and his dog sled team riding off into the horizon. But as the day goes from morning to evening, the quietness of the frozen tundra comes alive with vibrations. Next, from the distance, emerges a Kizashi, in which a husky appears to be enjoying his owner’s new transportation choice. Inside the Suzuki sedan, the rest of the dog-sled team is buckled in and enjoying the ride by bumping their heads and tapping their paws to the beat.
The 2012 Suzuki Kizashi complements the carmaker’s vehicle lineup that includes the SX4 Sport sedan, multipurpose five-door SX4 Crossover, SX4 SportBack hot hatch, the Grand Vitara compact SUV and the award-winning Equator pickup truck.
