Justin Timberlake has signed up to play a friend of Clint Eastwood's in an upcoming baseball movie, which will see Eastwood star in a film for the first time since 2008.
MSN reports that Justin Timberlake will take on the role of Eastwood's personal friend Johnny Flanagan, who is a former pitcher, but now works as a talent spotter for the New York Yankees.
MTV reports that the plot will focus on an ageing baseball scout (Eastwood) who goes on a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter (Amy Adams) to check out a potential baseball star (Timberlake).
It has been confirmed by various reports that Eastwood will not direct, with this duty going to Robert Lorernz, who will be making his feature directorial debut.
Movie critics have been speculating that this movie has been given the green light thanks to the success of the Oscar-nominated 'Moneyball' which stars Brad Pitt.
Eastwood last starred in the film he also directed, Gran Torino.
