article imageTracy Morgan collapsed due to 'high altitude' and lack of water

Park City - Comedian and "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan has been released from a Utah hospital after collapsing on Sunday evening from “high altitude” and lack of water.
The controversial “SNL” alum collapsed after attending Sunday’s Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards Dinner at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. He had been honored with the Spotlight Initiative Award, USA Today reported.
The website TMZ, who broke the story, alluded to the possibility of intoxication as the explanation to his collapse. Before the 2012 Spotlight Initiative Awards Gala Dinner began, " something wasn't right," TMZ noticed. On the clip below, at around 18 seconds, Morgan looks down and shakes his head as if realizing he's fallen asleep at the wheel while driving.
But Tracy has set the record straight.
He has a good explanation for his illness: high altitude.
"Superman ran into a little kryptonite." Morgan tweeted at 9:50am Monday. "The high altitude in Utah shook up this kid from Brooklyn."
Lewis Kay, Morgan's publicist, also released a statement confirming his collapse was from a "combination of exhaustion and altitude." In Utah, the elevation is 7,000 feet.
Kay added: "Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false."
Amy Roberts, a spokeswoman for Park City Medical Center, confirmed Kay telling TMZ that no drugs or alcohol were found in Tracy's system upon medical evaluation.
Filmmaker Ron Nyswaner, co-director of the Sundance film "Predisposed," in which the actor stars, had a slightly different storyline. He said Morgan's passing out was not only due to "altitude sickness" but also the 43 year old star's diabetes.
“He hadn't eaten,” the filmaker said of Morgan who was at a star studded dinner. “He hadn't had enough water."
Nyswaner added: “It was really frightening last night when it was happening.”
Indeed, the sources that spoke to The Hollywood Reporter couldn't agree more. They said that during dinner Morgan seemed "out of control" before accepting the Initiative Award, "yelling and falling to the ground."
He also reportedly delivered an incoherent acceptance speech, sources said to TMZ, after which he was escorted outside and passed out.
A security guard who asked not to be named, told The Toronto Star that Morgan was clearly unwell when he arrived at the Main St. gala.
“He got out of the car and you could see he was hurting,” he said of Morgan, who asked to sit down as soon as he got into the room. “He didn't look good.”
