Atlanta - For decades, the Anti-Defamation League and similar organisations have claimed people who accuse Jews of duel loyalty are anti-Semites. Now, one Israel firster has affirmed the lie, in stark fashion.
If you were the President of the United States, whose hit list would you expect to be on? Someone who clearly has a screw loose, like the man charged recently with shooting at the White House while the President was in California? How about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the man who didn't threaten to wipe Israel off the map? How about Larken Rose? As you Mr President have just signed into law an act that destroys the rights of all Americans and allows for arrest without warrant, charge or trial coupled with indefinite detention, he might consider you a bona fide target. How about some white wing extremist, on account of the President being neither white nor extreme - the previous sentence aside?
About the last person you would expect even to contemplate your assassination would be a newspaper editor in Atlanta, especially the editor of a Jewish newspaper. Alas, there is Jewish and there is, well, Israel first.
This is the scenario that has just occurred. Andrew B. Adler, the editor of a Jewish newspaper in Atlanta, has stated quite openly that one of the options the Prime Minister of Israel should have on his table is the assassination of the President of the United States. That is your President, Mr Adler.
In Britain, the head of state is the Queen; while it is permissible though contemptible to brand her a parasite, calling for or even suggesting she be assassinated could theoretically land you in the Tower of London, or just plain old clink. In the United States, the President is head of state, which means Mr Adler's words are treasonable.
Read his article - currrently here - and see for yourself.
There has, fortunately, been condemnation from the leading Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, and hopefully more will follow. It remains to be seen though why Mr Adler is still at liberty. The President should use his new powers to clap him in irons, march him to the airport, and put him aboard the first plane to the country to whom clearly he owes his first allegiance. And he should do the same to any American - Jew or Gentile - who puts the interests of a foreign nation above that of his own.
