The first set images of Tim Burton's new vampire flick, "Dark Shadows", have surfaced with Johnny Depp taking on the lead role. Burton and Depp have collaborated many times in the past and hope to do it again in the Box Office.
Actor Johnny Depp has portrayed many different characters ranging from Edward Scissorhands to Captain Jack Sparrow. Now he is taking on the role of the now-extremely popular vampire in a new film entitled Dark Shadows.
According to the New York Post, Dark Shadows is yet another collaboration between Depp and director Tim Burton. The two also teamed up for films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and the aforementioned Edward Scissorhands.
With the initial set images of Dark Shadows having recently surfaced, the film is unmistakably Burton and is based off of a cult television soap opera about a vampire, who has been buried for 200 years, trying to adapt to his surroundings in 1972. Depp will take on the role of Barnabas Collins, a character whom he has been wanting to play for some time now according to MTV Movies Blog.
Production began last April and the stills have come out amidst rumors regarding turmoil in Depp and partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis' relationship. Some sources are even saying the two have already parted ways.
Even if these allegations are true, Depp still has some good news in his corner as he was named America's Favorite Actor for the second consecutive year by the Harris Interactive survey.
