Kathy Griffin once again did what she's already well known for, stripping on live TV. Many may be wondering why she is bent on making the strip act her trademark. Is this just for the publicity or has she a message besides merely exposing her aging body?
The comedienne was explaining to David Letterman on the "Late Show" how she shocked Anderson Cooper by stripping down to her undies on CNN's New Year's Eve show and why she doesn't think it is inappropriate for her to do that on television. She was shown a clip of her strip act on Cooper's show. Letterman dared her repeat her act on his show. She answered: "I'll do it right now." The 64-year-old Letterman without batting an eyelid, invited her to "Go ahead."
Kathy was rather awkward for a woman who seems unable to keep her clothes on in front of TV cameras. While she struggled, wriggled, twisted and fumbled almost nervously with the hook and zipper of her black cocktail dress, the 64-year-old host stood aside with a leering grin, saying, "wow," "oh my, oh my."
Letterman finally had to help the fumbling old lady unhook the dress. But Kathy's awkwardness only helped get her viewers over the climax before the act was done.
