Celebrity gossip and lifestyle video entertainment company Young Hollywood has been chosen as one of YouTube's "official" channels, providing original and premium content on a daily basis.
Young Hollywood, known for their celebrity interviews with celebrities and insider news from Hollywood, have expanded from their feature website to original video content on YouTube and will be officially launching a channel on Tuesday.
Studio space has been taken up in the Beverly Hills Four Seasons hotel--up to four rooms--allowing for interviewers to do a full, professional looking shows for YouTube's huge platform. Celebrities come down to the studio space to be interviewed and hosts engage with viewers about current trends and gossip.

The channel will have new video content everyday, each day being dedicated to a different show. As per Young Hollywood's press release: "...The YHN [Young Hollywood Network] programming slate offers viewers five original shows per week, with a new episode airing each day at 10:00am PST/1:00pm EST, in addition to weekend specials."
To kick off their debut week, Young Hollywood will be sitting down with names such as Morgan Freeman, Ewan McGregor, the cast of the television show "The Middle," and YouTube star Greyson Chance. Tuesday's premiere show is Studio Secrets, which will be featuring McGregor and Chance. Each show will have a different insider look on Hollywood, from movies to television to other entertainment and lifestyle trends.
"We're ecstatic to be one of the first YouTube channels to launch," says CEO and founder of Young Hollywood, RJ Williams. "To us it's the future, what MTV was or CNN was back when it started, is really what we want YHN to be."

YouTube has become a major platform for several different companies and individuals, especially now that YouTube is starting to jump into original, premium content alongside uploaded videos by YouTube's viewers and users.
Major companies have been asked to create channels on YouTube, such as Disney, to upload original content that can't be found anywhere else. In particular, Disney agreed because they find their users are moving toward a digital, online medium rather than television and other traditional means, as reported by Gather News.
Funding for these premium channels have been between $2 to $5 million, as reported by Ad Age.

One of YHN and Young Hollywood's hosts, Kinsey Schofield, explains: "This is fascinating experience, being so heavily in the social space as well as a host for Young Hollywood and YHN---to see YouTube evolve in to a destination rather than something you stumble upon. People will be thinking of YouTube beyond cute cat videos."
Young Hollywood was created in 2007 and has worked with major studios such as Universal, Paramount, and Colombia as well as ABC, Starz, and E! Entertainment to provide video campaigns and exclusive content. Young Hollywood was originally on cable television but made the move toward an online viewership recently, and the YouTube channel only cements Young Hollywood's vision of a new way people view and interact with original video content.
