NEW YORK - VH1 will premiere Madonna's brand-new video "Music" and talk to
Madonna herself in a phone interview during a live, hour-long special,
"Madonna's Music," airing Wednesday, August 2 at 4:00-5:00 p.m.
(live ET/tape-delayed PT).
Hosted by VH1 News correspondent Rebecca Rankin, "Madonna's Music" will also
feature a discussion with Rolling Stone music critic Joe Levy and special studio
guests (who will present their takes on Madonna's new look and sound), hear from
the studio audience about their favorite Madonna moment or memory, replay some
of the "greatest TV moments" of Madonna's career, and present a video interview
with actress Debi Mazar and Madonna's long time background vocalist and touring
partner Nikki Harris, both of whom appear in the "Music" video.
Also on August 2, VH1's "Rock Across America 2000" will present a special "Top
10 Countdown" featuring Madonna videos. "Rock Across America 2000: Top 10
Madonna Videos" airs at 11:00 a.m.-noon (ET/PT), with an encore presentation at
5:00-6:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
In addition, will offer a re-mix of Madonna's new single "Music" that
users can log on to listen to.
Madonna's eighth album of new material, "Music" was recorded in London and will
be released worldwide in September 19. The video for the single "Music" was
shot in Los Angeles by director Jonas Akerlund, who won several MTV Awards and a
Grammy for "Ray of Light," l998's Video of the Year. In the new video, Debi
Mazar and Nikki Harris join Madonna on a riotous night out on the town
chaperoned by the English comedian and TV star Ali G.
