He's here, he's there, pop star Justin Bieber seems to be everywhere, now including one of the world's biggest yearly technology exhibits. Bieber will appear at the 2012 International CES that runs in Las Vegas from Jan. 10-13.
One of the world's largest consumer technology shows, the Consumer Electronic Show has been around in one form or another since 1967 and for over a decade has been held exclusively in Las Vegas. It is here many major new electronics products are introduced to the world; for example, the Blu-Ray disc was first previewed there in 2004. What will Bieber be helping show the world?
Bieber Robot in Las Vegas?
The Canadian singer and songwriter will be there with the company
TOSY Robotics on the 11th and together they'll unveil the company's newest robot. It's described as an 'entertainment robot' but further details have not been released. Bieber has had Bieber
dolls that sing marketed but there's no suggestion the robot will be in his likeness.
TOSY is a Vietnamese company, one that, simply puts, makes robots; TOSY is known for creating 'Topio,' a robot that can play ping-pong with humans. TOSY has been on market for a decade and it's the first time that Justin Bieber has worked with them.
Celebrities at 2012 International CES
There will be other celebrities at the 2012 CES. A press
release says they will include athletes, such as former NBA players John Saley, Robert Horry and the always-entertaining Dennis Rodman; Rodman will be part of introducing 'Paltalk', chat room technology that will allow users to see one another.
The rappers/actors 50 cent and LL Cool J will be there, as will Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of 'Jersey Shore' fame and noted actor Elizi Dushku. Bieber is scheduled to spend two hours there Weds. the 11th from 1 to 3 pm. There is one catch though, Bieber fans, the 2012 International CES is not open to the public.
