Around 4:30 a.m. this morning the sidewalk across from a schoolyard became a crime scene at Hupfield Trail near Finch Avenue and Neilson Road.
Several people are suspected of fleeing the scene leaving behind a young man in his 20s on the ground.
The name of the victim has yet to be released. According to 42 Division, Toronto Police Services the victim was 20 years of age.
There is no information at this time about possible suspects.
People walking the street at 171 East Liberty Street discovered a young man on the ground with several stab wounds. The man, 24, was quickly taken to hospital where he escaped death when doctors were able to revive him. According to Division 14, Toronto Police Services the man was stabbed 5 or 6 times and lost a massive amount of blood.
The victim has yet to regain consciousnesses. At this time there is no information about suspects or a motive for the stabbing.
Two people are recovering in Toronto hospitals after being shot in the early hours in the Entertainment District.
The shots were fired in the Queen Street West and Peter Street area around 2:00 a.m.
One person was hit in the chest and another in the leg.
There is no information as of yet on suspects or motive.
A man was also stabbed in the abdomen near Richmond Street and John Street around 3:30 a.m. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A man is recovering at Sunnybrook Hospital after being stabbed outside of a Lake Shore Boulevard bar in Mississauga.
The victim is said to be in his 20s. Peel Police said that they are looking for a white male in his 20s.
14 Division said that along with the various stabbings and shootings that Toronto Police encountered during the long night there were several incidents of people being hit over the head with beer bottles, the most serious incident taking place at Liberty Grand.
