Sonora - Miss Me jeans are a hot item for teens and young adults and they will be in short supply for a bit longer in Sonora California.
One local retailer was reported to have been burglarized for as many as 100 pairs of Miss Me jeans, a high end clothing item for girls these days. The jeans reportedly cost as much as US$100 each.
The stores owner, Liz Payne, was alerted by police who went to her home early Thursday morning so she could try to figure out how much had been stolen.
The shipment had just arrived at the store, Polka Dots Boutique, and Payne suggested it was possible that someone knew of the shipment before they broke the door and made off with the inventory. Whoever broke the door in at 4:00 A.M. did a great job of it, according to Payne: “There was glass all the way across the store. They really smashed it,”
The store is located on the busiest street in Sonora and it had to have been a fast 'smash and grab' job to be done without attracting any attention from the occasional traffic through town even so early in the morning.
